Come Lord Jesus
Proverbs 31:20
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands
to the needy.  Proverbs 31:20

"I don't want no hurricane coming to our house!" our youngest son
said.

"Oh, you don't need to worry we live in the middle of the country
and hurricanes don't usually don't come this far."   I was baffled that
he had brought up Hurricane Katrina again, to a five year-old last
fall was a lifetime ago.

"Why are you worrying about a hurricane again?"  I questioned.

"Oh, because of the lady on t.v."  one of the older children had been
watching the news and reported that they had seen a lady that had
given her home over to a family that had been left homeless by
Katrina.

"Wouldn't that be hard to invite complete strangers into your house
to live and trust them with all of your things."  my daughter stated.

"Yes, in this day and time it is hard to trust."  I sadly replied.

Perhaps if more of us could open our arms to help those in need
maybe we wouldn't have to say, "In this day and time."

To all the wonderful people across the nation that daily open their
homes and hearts to victims, I can not honor you enough.

Father in Heaven,  You have chosen good hard working people to
help those in need.  I am ashamed that I do not do all that I can to
help those who are hurting and who are victims.  Please be with
those who are unable to help themselves.  Send people into their
lives that will Glorify Your Name.  Lead me in Your paths and soften
my heart to the helpless so that I might be more like YOU.  In Your
Name I pray.  Amen.
