And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Ephesians 6:18
We have a five year that is different from most - he is a perfectionist. Part of being a perfectionist is stress. If the task that he is given is not completed in what is deemed prefect in his five year old eyes, he becomes sick with a headache.
In order to help him over come his stress we have devised a plan when you get worried that it is not going to be the way you want it, stop and pray take your problems to Jesus. He will be the One that worries how it turns out.
He has accepted this very well and now we stop in the middle of coloring...and pray...we stop in the middle of reading... and pray...we stop in the middle of playing...and pray. If we see an ambulance ...we stop and pray for the victim and their family. Even at church the other day when Pastor was praying he yanked on my arm and said, "See even Pastor knows that you have to stop what your doing and give your problems to Jesus."
Paul told us to pray at all times and to give ourselves wholly to prayer and to pray on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let us accept prayer in the same way as my five year old and never be afraid to talk to God. He's the only one that will listen any time, any where, in any circumstances.
Holy Father, we praise YOUR Name, and we ask that you would always be with us and give us a gently nudge when we forget that we need to be taking all things to YOU in PRAYER. Amen.
